Title: Iron Wheel? by Unknown
Location: South side of River Road, between Campbell Avenue and 1st
Another in the series of big rusty iron pieces. I think there's a song
about this one: "Wheel by the road keeps on rusting."
Sorry, while I take photos of these, I just don't find them all that
interesting. Perhaps they are too abstract for me. Perhaps I think that
the artist is trying to pull a fast one on the public. Perhaps I'm not
a big fan of modern art. I would bet that all three of these are true
to some extent. But don't let that stop you from enjoying this piece.
"Wheel by the road keeps on rusting" - hmmm. My partner has certainly
come up with an interesting way of expressing his lack of enthusiasm
for this particular item! I will have to admit that this isn't one of
my favorite pieces, either, but it's by no means the oddest sculpture
we've highlighted on these pages. Art, after all, like beauty, is in
the eye of the beholder, and everyone is entitled to his or her
opinion. Perhaps if we had some notion of what the artist was trying to
say this piece might be more appealing.
